Built for the organisations that make communities work
There are over 720,000 organisations in the UK that hold formal meetings — parish councils, school governing bodies, charities, sports clubs, housing associations, churches, and companies with boards. They all follow rules. They all make decisions. And almost all of them still do it with Word documents, email chains, and filing cabinets.
Our mission
Quorate exists to give every organisation — from the smallest village hall committee to the largest multi-academy trust — the tools to run their governance properly. Not enterprise software scaled down. Not a generic meeting tool with governance bolted on. Purpose-built, sector-aware governance.
When a parish clerk signs up, they see Councillor, Clerk, Full Council, and Precept. When a school clerk signs up, they see Governor, Clerk to Governors, Full Governing Body, and Budget. When a charity secretary signs up, they see Trustee, Secretary, Board of Trustees, and Annual General Meeting. Same platform. Different language. Same rigour. Different rules.
Every meeting template, compliance framework, standing order default, and terminology map is configured per sector — not hard-coded. The platform adapts. The clerk doesn't.
What we believe
Governance is not optional
Every decision made in a formal meeting has legal weight. The tools should match the seriousness of the work.
Clerks deserve better
Parish clerks, school clerks, charity secretaries — they are often part-time, underpaid, and overwhelmed. We build for them first.
Transparency builds trust
Public portals, published minutes, decision logs — transparency is not a compliance chore, it is how communities hold their institutions accountable.
One platform, not ten
Meeting management, action tracking, compliance, financial governance, public portal — all in one place, not spread across Word, Excel, email, and a noticeboard.
Configuration, not code
Supporting 60+ organisation types is not a feature roadmap — it is a configuration file. Same platform, different templates, different terminology, different rules.
Pricing should be fair
No per-seat charges. No enterprise sales calls. A PTA pays £75/year. A parish council pays £150/year. A town council pays £500/year. Transparent and predictable.

How we build
Quorate is built on modern, proven infrastructure. Next.js for the application layer. PostgreSQL with row-level security for bulletproof data isolation — it is architecturally impossible for one organisation to see another's data. AWS infrastructure hosted in the UK (eu-west-2, London). Stripe for billing. All data encrypted at rest and in transit.
We take security seriously because governance data is sensitive. Part 2 (confidential) meeting content is access-controlled. Virus scanning on every upload. Brute force protection. Session management. Full audit trail. GDPR-compliant with a published Data Processing Agreement.
