Getting Started

What is Quorate?
Quorate is a UK-based SaaS governance and meeting management platform. It handles the entire meeting lifecycle — from agenda creation through to published minutes and tracked actions — with built-in compliance tools for AGAR, Ofsted, the Charity Commission, and more.
Who is Quorate for?
Any organisation that runs formal meetings. Parish councils, town councils, school governing bodies, charities, housing associations, sports clubs, churches, companies with boards — over 60 organisation types are supported with sector-specific terminology and templates.
How do I get started?
Sign up for a free 30-day trial at quorate.app/register. Pick your organisation type and you will be guided through a setup wizard that configures your committees, branding, and standing orders. No credit card required.
How long does setup take?
Most organisations are up and running within 15 minutes. The setup wizard walks you through organisation details, branding, member invitations, and settings. You can start creating your first meeting immediately.

Features

What features are included?
Every plan includes meeting management, agenda building, auto-generated minutes, action tracking, document storage, member directory, and keyboard shortcuts. Higher plans add public portals, compliance dashboards, financial governance, API access, and more.
Can I generate meeting packs automatically?
Yes. The pack builder lets you drag and drop documents onto agenda items, set page ranges, add cover sheets, and generate a single PDF pack with automatic page numbering and table of contents.
Does Quorate handle live meetings?
Yes. Live meeting mode lets the clerk record attendance, run through agenda items, record motions and votes in real time, manage speaking lists, and track time. Everything feeds directly into auto-generated minutes.
What compliance frameworks are supported?
AGAR (parish councils and drainage boards), Ofsted governance (schools and academies), RSH (housing associations), Charity Commission (charities and CIOs), Companies House (companies and CICs), and CIC Regulator (community interest companies).
Is there a public portal?
Yes (Core plan and above). Each organisation gets a branded public transparency portal where agendas, minutes, decisions, and councillor profiles are published automatically. Custom domains are supported.

Pricing & Billing

How much does Quorate cost?
Plans start at £75/year for clubs and associations. Parish councils and schools pay £150/year. Companies and charities pay £250/year. Town and borough councils pay from £500/year. All plans include unlimited users.
Are there any per-user charges?
No. Every plan includes unlimited users. Add as many councillors, governors, trustees, or committee members as you need at no extra cost.
Can I pay by invoice?
Yes. We can invoice annually for councils that need to pay by BACS or purchase order. Contact us to arrange invoicing.
Do you offer group discounts?
Yes. County associations, federations, and multi-academy trusts can buy for multiple organisations with centralised billing and volume discounts.
What happens after the free trial?
Your account becomes read-only. All your data is preserved for 90 days, giving you time to subscribe or export everything. We never delete data without warning.

Security & Data

Where is my data stored?
All data is stored in AWS eu-west-2 (London). Databases are encrypted at rest using AES-256. All connections use TLS 1.2+. Backups are taken daily with point-in-time recovery.
Is Quorate GDPR-compliant?
Yes. We provide a Data Processing Agreement (DPA), maintain a record of processing activities, support data subject access requests (DSAR), and implement privacy by design throughout. Contact our DPO at dpo@quorate.app.
How is tenant data isolated?
Every database query is scoped by organisation using PostgreSQL row-level security (RLS). It is architecturally impossible for one organisation to see another organisation's data.
Can I export my data?
Yes. Export meetings, minutes, decisions, actions, and financial data as CSV at any time. Documents can be downloaded individually or in bulk. A complete data export is available on request.
Do you have a virus scanning?
Yes. Every file uploaded to Quorate is automatically scanned for viruses using ClamAV before it becomes available. Infected files are quarantined and the uploader is notified.

Migration & Support

Can I import existing data?
Yes. You can import members, budgets, and assets from CSV. Meeting history from Word/PDF documents can be uploaded to the document library. Contact us if you need help migrating from another system.
What support do you offer?
All plans include email support with a knowledge base and in-app guidance. Heavy plan customers get priority support with faster response times. We also offer onboarding calls for new customers.
Is there training available?
Yes. Our knowledge base includes step-by-step guides for every feature. We offer video walkthroughs and can arrange live training sessions for groups. Most clerks find the platform intuitive after 15 minutes.
